Having read about the red Kirishima azaleas at
the Nagaoka-Tenmangu shrine we decided it would be a nice
place to walk around and see what's blooming. There were
some lingering cherry blossoms and some azaleas blooming along
with lots of new maples. Even so it was a cool,
beautiful sunny day with lots to discover. And it seemed
to be a good day for parents to take their babies for their
first visit to the shrine and blessing. On our way back
into Kyoto we made a brief stop in Arashiyama, which was
absolutely mobbed...
