Demonstration & Luncheon

14 June 2025

As part of a celebration of its 45th anniversary, Ikenobo Ikebana Society of Honolulu held a luncheon and demonstration.  Professor Manabu Noda, assisted by Nakamura,  began the program with a ritualistic Reishiki-ike performance, adapted to the modern Hawaiian environment and materials.  This was followed by Headmaster-designate Ikenobo Senko demonstrating a tatehana arrangement and a modern rikka shimputai, both using tropical materials.  The program ended with the three of them, and a few members of the audience, creating a large taisaku display on the stage.
