On our way out for the day Roger noticed a
small gallery near the bus stop that quickly drew us in.
They specialize in adapting the Nishijin-weaving technique,
traditionally used in wide obis, into art using mostly silk
threads and 1800 needle jacquard looms, more than four times
the usual... Most of the works on display were various
adaptations of Ukiyo-e woodblock prints and Rimpa style
paintings in addition to works by those by Vincent van Gogh
who, along with other Impressionists, was highly influenced by
Japanese art.
