40th Anniversary Banquet

 7 March 2020

Ikenobo Ikebana Society of Honolulu continued its 40th Anniversary celebrations with a festive banquet.  Ikenobo HQ staff performed a Reishiki-ike or formal ceremonial arranging of ikebana to welcome everyone.  This was followed by a demonstration of various Ikenobo styles of arrangments by Sr. Professor Fukuhiro Nakamura, and several brief congratulatory speeches.  The hula halau Ka Pa Nani `O Lilinoe entertained us during dinner with a variety of traditional and modem dances.  The evening closed with several awards, the singing of the Ikenobo Song, and closing remarks.
