Aomori Prefecture, Japan

Barb happened to be in northern Japan and got to several of the big festivals in Aomori Prefecture.
The name and styles vary among towns, but the floats, called Neputa or Nebuta, are three-dimensional wire structures
covered with rice paper, painted and lit from within, and often refer to ancient tales.
