23-24 October - Exploring Jakar

Away from the festivals, we explore the old town of Jakar (Chakar), Jakar Fortress and Khurjey Lakhang Monastery on a sunny afternoon.
The town of Chakar consists primarily of small wooden buildings built in a flood plain.  The government plans to relocate the town into
concrete structures higher on the hill nearby, and has even leveled an area and installed street lights, but not much else...
Unfortunately, during the early morning hours of 26 October, about 1/4 of the old town burned to the ground.
