Ikenobo Workshops

22-24 February 2019

Professor Takabayashi lead several workshops in Honolulu.  Friday began with a talk and demonstration on how to use the two-level bamboo vase.  We then progressed into Rikka Shimputai.  While the class was working on that, he decided to arrange a Shoka Shimputai as well!  Saturday we focused on Rikka Shofutai, to include the use of loquat Oha and how that affects the direction of the kusamichi, or flower path representing a waterfall tumbling over the leafy cliffs.  Finally we ended with Shoka Shofutai.
