Driving from Dresden to Berlin we pick a random
city to take a break, choosing Luckau because the sign
mentions a historic town center. An absolute gem of a
town, it hosted the regional garden show in 2000 and still
maintains many beautiful gardens surrounding the historic town
center. The star of the town is the more than 700 year
old St Nickolai Church containing elements from Gothic to
Baroque. On our way back to the highway we stumble
across an old Soviet cemetary and drive through a
historic glass manufacturing town turned into a museum.
